Fería de las Flores – Festival of the Flowers

Come and stay with us during the world famous Fería de las Flores. We can guide you through this amazing colourful event and bring you in touch with the local culture. During this week the Santa Elena silleteros open the doors of their farms to thousands of visitors and tourists from all over Colombia and the world to showcase their gardens and flower beds, talk about their stories and culture silletera. The event ends with the “night silletera”  Parade. From the afternoon and for most of the night, the visitors can watch silleteros making their saddles, where all family members participate. While listening to traditional music you can enjoy the typical food and drinks of the region and have the privilege to enjoy this beautiful expression of tradition and culture of the silletera paisa.

Viva la cultura silletera durante la semana que se celebra la Ferias de las Flores. Durante esta semana los silleteros de Santa Elena abren las puertas de sus fincas a miles de visitantes y turistas de todas partes de Colombia y el mundo, para mostrar sus huertas y sembrados de flores, hablar sobre sus anécdotas y la cultura silletera. El evento termina con la “noche silletera” previa al Desfile de Silleteros, desde las horas de la tarde y durante gran parte de la noche, los silleteros muestran a todos los visitantes la elaboración de sus silletas, donde participan todos los integrantes de la familia; al ritmo de la música montañera, un buen trago de aguardiente y la comida típica del corregimiento, los visitantes tienen el privilegio de disfrutar de esta bella expresión de la tradición silletera y la cultura paisa.
